The Ancient House Museum

Just down the road from the fire station in Thetford is The Ancient House Museum. This is where we went to next!

We met a lady called Karen in the museum. She told us some information about the museum.

What were these things used for in Tudor times?

This is a model of the ancient house! What does ancient mean?

This fireplace is big enough to stand in!

Karen showed us how the beams used to build the house were made:

Before it was time to go we had some time to explore some of the different rooms:

Mrs Taylor is looking to see if she can see any water in the well below the glass cover:

Did you spot where this funny symbol was? What room was it in?

What a fantastic time we all had...two trips in one day!

  2. At supper time we had great fun talking about the 'olden days'. Arthur really enjoyed recounting what daub and wattle is made from...! What a great trip.
