Can the Wrens work out who the famous person is that they are going to be learning about?

Mrs Roper's Toys

Mrs. Roper brought in a wonderful collection of old toys.
She was brilliant at showing us how they worked and what they were made out of.
She passed them around and we all had a good look at them.

Can you remember why Mrs. Roper had never put money in the little 

metal money boxes?

           The twizzle thing was Mrs. Taylor's favourite toy.

The Great Fire of Banham

On Monday Mrs Taylor and the Wrens reenacted The Great Fire of London!

Look at what we did to our 1666 model houses:

 

Our houses burned to down the ground just like those in Pudding Lane, London in 1666.

 

In the words of the Wrens: "What a fabulous, amazing and horrifying way to end to finish off the topic!!!"

Time travelling Wrens

Today the Wrens travelled back in time to find out about someone famous from the past.

Would like to go through the time portal with us!

We had to smell some of the clues.  Louis spotted this was mint.  Hannah said, "This was kind of a medicine. You would give it to someone to make them feel better."

  

Joshua thought this might be ginger...like crumbs from a biscuit."

Louis wasn't too sure about the smell of it though!

this is the Jamaican flag.



Does this name mean anything? Yes it does - it's Mary Seacole!
