Nee-nah, nee-nah!

Our trip to the fire station inspired us to do lots of fantastic follow up work
when we got back to school!

We remembered lots about the real fire engine we saw and
put lots of detail into our paintings.

Next we decided to design and build a moving fire engine model.

We used lots of skills along the way.
Mind Mrs Hall's fingers Harry!
Look at how carefully we are concentrating!

William is just putting the finishing touches to his super model.

Erin and Jack are making sure the axels stay in place so the wheels can turn.

Look at our finished models below.
Our smiley faces show just how pleased with are with them!

Ship Shape Services

The Wrens have been working for a company called Ship Shape Services.  We received a letter from Horace Hexagon who asked for our help at his shape factory.  He had a problem with his shape machine - all his shapes were coming out in pieces!!!  We shared the information we already knew about parts of shapes with our friends.  Horace asked us to find out what happens to a shape that is split into 4 equal parts.
Some of us investigated how to cut different shaped pizzas into quarters.
The best part was when we got to try all of the yummy pizzas! Whilst the girls enjoy their pizza, why not play a game?  Click on the picture above to play the pizza game.

If you click on the picture below, you can play another game all about shapes:

Wrens visit East Harling Fire Station!

The Wrens and Year 1 Robins had a great time when we visited the fire station at East Harling.

We got to see all the special clothes the fire fighters wear to keep them safe.

Josh and Elliot tried on the breathing apparatus.
It felt very hot inside and was extremely heavy and uncomfortable.

Mr Germany showed us all the equipment on the fire engine.  They even have a kettle!
Watch out everyone!

Squirting the hose was great fun!

Thank you to everyone who helped make our trip such a fantastic experience.
