Wrens' Class Charter

This week we have been thinking about the rights of all children.  We talked about what we had learned and then created our own set of rights - our class charter:

We had lots of ideas!

This is what we agreed on:

We want it to be fair for everyone - so everyone has the same rights. We created a set of 'responsibilities' to go with our rights:

Making our handprints was great fun!

Our work is on display in our classroom. Please come and take a look...

Can you remember what we talked about?

How long are our feet?

The Year 2 Wrens have been doing some interesting measuring today!

They had to keep their feet very still...

...not everyone found this easy - it was quite tickly!

Next came the measuring part.

Who had the longest foot?  Whose was the shortest?

What could you measure at home?

Farmer Ben and Farmer Julie's Farm Visit

Here we are on our way to the farm!

We had to walk through lots of fields to get there!

What is growing in this field? Can you remember?

At last we arrived...Farmer Ben and Farmer Julie were waiting to meet us.

We got to find out about the different kinds of crops that are grown on their farm:

What was in this bucket?

We played a game. Can you remember which of the things on Julie's table were made with wheat?

Farmer Ben and Farmer Julie's farm is not a farm that has animals on it, but they do have lots of ducks on their pond!

After all that fresh air, we were definitely ready for lunch!

After lunch we were given some hoops and bug collectors:

What bugs did you collect?

Here we are making a very special bookmark.

It was sadly time to leave the farm...but we did get a ride on the tractor and trailer back to school!

Just before we left the ducklings came to see us. Arthur counted 9 ducklings altogether. How many did you count?

Farmer Ben had a surprise for us on the way back. He stopped his tractor next to his field of cattle.

He took a bucket of food with him into the field. We were hoping that the cows would come closer to us...

...they ran around the field for a bit but didn't come close at all!

What a fabulous visit!

Thank you to Farmer Ben and Farmer Julie for a wonderful day!
