The Portrait of a Wren

It's a new school year in Wrens!

One of our first jobs was to create a self portrait...Paul Klee style!

Here is what the original looks like:

We used a special technique to create our own versions.

We cut out different shapes using crepe paper and then used them to paint colour onto our portraits by brushing them with water:

Portrait gallery coming up! Can you work out who we are?

Our fabulous work is on display in our classroom...come and take a look!

We love Samba!

Connor came to our school today to teach us all how to drum like they do in Brazil. This is called Samba drumming.

The Wrens couldn't wait to get started!

We each got a turn on all of the different instruments.

Connor taught us lots of different 'Call and Responses'; he played one rhythm first and we played a different one back to him (we learnt lots of silly phrases to help us remember which rhythm to play).

It was great fun and we were all incredibly good at drumming in time with everyone else!
